Artists, Display Your Work in 'Lemont: Then and Now' Show
The Lemont Center for the Arts announced a call for artists on Monday for a fall exhibit in which artists can display and sell their work.

Residents will have soon have a chance to peek into Lemont's rich history via an array of images, canvases and other custom works of art.
The Lemont Center for the Arts recently deployed a call for artists. The announcement states that coordinators will soon be accepting historically inspired photos, paintings, drawings, sculptures and more for their upcoming collaborative "Lemont: Then and Now" exhibit — the sixth annual event of its kind.
This year, the center has teamed up with the Lemont Area Historical Society to present a unique exhibit showcasing imagery of the village's richly textured past along with artwork depicting 19th and 20th century Lemont.

Any medium is welcome and all work will be accepted, according to the call for submissions. Those entering pieces will not be charged a fee.

When
Submissions will be accepted in early September for the show, which will open to the public on Sept. 9 and conclude on the evening of Oct. 30.
- Thursday, Aug. 18: RSVP your intention to participate to lemontcenterarts@gmail.com
- Thursday, Sept. 1: Drop off artwork between 5 and 7 p.m.
- Opening Reception: TBD
- Tuesday, Nov. 1: Artwork Pickup from 5 to 7 p.m.
Where
- The Lemont Center for the Arts, 1243 State Street, unit 101, Lemont, IL 60439
How
- The show is open to all Lemont and surrounding area artists ages 16 years old and older.
- Both two- and three-dimensional work is welcome. All submissions must be original and comply with copyright laws.
- To-be-displayed work must be presentation and exhibition ready.
- The LCA reserves the right to refuse any entry and to withdraw any work from the exhibition.
Liability
- The LCA does not insure work while on display.
- The artist bears all responsibility for loss of, or damage to work.
- Work left beyond thirty days of the closing of the exhibit becomes the property of the LCA.
Submission Guidelines
- Each artist may enter up to three works of art.
- Fill out an entry form — request one via email to lemontcenterarts@gmail.com — and bring it along with your artwork on Sept. 1.
- Exhibited work may be sold at prices specified on the entry form.
- The LCA receives 30 percent of each work's total price. If work is not for sale, please indicate NFS on the entry form.
- The LCA reserves the right to photographically reproduce accepted entries for publicity purposes.
