D113A Board Of Education Accepting Applications To Fill Vacancy

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education is accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Patrick Kerrigan who recently got engaged and is moving out of the district, the District shared in a news release.

The individual appointed to the seat would serve on the Board until April 2027.

Applicants for the Board vacancy must:

• Be a United States citizen
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Illinois and District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
• Be a registered voter
• Not be a child sex offender
• Not hold an incompatible public office
• Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district
• Not be a school trustee
• Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment

Applicants should show familiarity with the Board's policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban, the District said. The Board's policies are available on the district's website.

Board members attend at least one meeting monthly, occasionally more, and serve on at least one Board committee and attend multiple events throughout the year. Between meetings, board members regularly read and review updates and communicate with the superintendent on current and future happenings in the district.

Applications are available online or at the District Office, at 16100 127th St. in Lemont and are due by Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
