Fall Recycling Day Set For Saturday, Oct. 19

Residents are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Lemont Open Food Pantries.

 The Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission will host its Fall Recycling Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Metra Parking Lot, 101 Main St.

Among the items being collected: motor oil, old documents (for shredding), electronics, latex pain, prescription medications, scrap metal, batteries, toner cartridges and CFL light bulbs

Residents are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Lemont Open Food Pantries.

Also in Lemont this Weekend:

  • Week 8 Football: Lemont High School (3-4, 2-2) will play at Bremen (6-1, 5-0) at 7 p.m. Friday.
  • Fall Fest: The Lemont Park District will host its annual Fall Fest from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park, 16028 W. 127th St.
  • Education Foundation Fundraiser: The Lemont High School Educational Foundation will take a trip down the aisle Saturday as it hosts it signature fundraiser, "Food for Thought: Gettin' Hitched." This year's wedding-themed event will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont.
  • Pancake Breakfast: Lemont Troop 149 will host a Pancake Breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, at the Lemont Township Center, 16300 Alba St. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from a Boy Scout from Troop 149.
