Fire Collapses Roof Of Home Near Lemont: Fire District

LEMONT, IL — A fire was reported at a home in unincorporated Cook County early Wednesday, the Northwest Homer Fire Protection District told Patch.
The fire district responded to a home near Archer Avenue and Oak Lane at 4:12 a.m. Wednesday. A passerby said they saw a fire down the street, according to the fire district.
When crews arrived, the house was "fully involved" in fire, and the roof was collapsed, the fire district said. No injuries were reported, and the residents were not home at the time.

Aid was received from multiple neighboring departments, and "this home was in a rural area and water was trucked into suppress the fire," the fire district said.
Cook County investigators and the State Fire Marshal were on scene for the investigation, the fire district said. No cause has been determined at this time.
