Lemont Athletic Hall Of Fame Induction Set For September

LEMONT, IL — The newest members of Lemont High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame will be introduced at a ceremony on Sept. 14 at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, the district shared in a news release. Included among the hall of fame’s 19th induction class will be the 2014 and 2016 state champion baseball teams.

The 2025 Lemont High School Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony will begin with a reception at noon on Sept. 14. Lunch will be served at 12:45 p.m., with the induction ceremony beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m. Cog Hill Golf Club is located at 12294 S. Archer Avenue in Lemont.

The Lemont High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2004, and provides an opportunity for the school to recognize alumni, coaches, parents and community members for outstanding athletic accomplishments and extraordinary support, the school said.

The 2014 and 2016 baseball teams both won the IHSA Class 3A State Championships under head coach Brian Storako, according to LHS. The two teams featured 17 future college baseball players and four future professional baseball players.

The 2014 squad went 35-5, posting a school season record for wins and reaching the 30-win mark for the first time in program history, the school said. Lemont won the South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title, as well as the program’s first-ever IHSA Sectional and IHSA Super-Sectional crowns.

The 2016 team went 30-9 and reached the 30-win mark for the second time in program history. Lemont won the SSC Blue title and outscored opponents by a 66-10 margin in the IHSA Playoffs.

Lemont High School is seeking nominations for potential future Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Nominations are accepted in one of four categories - Athlete, Coach, Parent/Community Member, or Pride of Lemont. All nominees must be of good character, reflecting the qualities and ideals set forth in the school’s Athletic Code of Conduct. Nominees in the ‘Athlete’ category are not eligible for induction to the Athletic Hall of Fame until five years after their graduation from the school.
