Lemont Board Approves New Salt Dome Project
The project will be located at the southwest corner of Archer Avenue and Derby Road.
LEMONT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Lemont Village Board approved the award of a $516,916 contract for its new 1,000-ton salt dome project. The project will be located at the southwest corner of Archer Avenue and Derby Road.
"This will be the second structure of three on that property," Public Works Director Ralph Pakula said.
According to Board documents, the project was budgeted for $450,000, but that included an asphalt floor of the structure, which reduced the cost of the project.

However, Pakula said that after site visits to other facilities, the structure will instead have a sealed concrete bottom. This change increases the cost of the project by $46,611.30.
The Village received two bids, and approved the low bid from E.P. Doyle & Son, LLC, for $516,916.
