Lemont Heat Advisory: Dangerous Heat Expected Monday, Tuesday

Dangerous heat and humidity are possible again on Tuesday.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont is under a heat advisory on Monday as dangerous heat is expected. There is also an elevated excessive heat risk on Tuesday as heat and humidity are possible again.

The heat advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m., and heat index values up to 109 are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Dangerous heat and humidity are possible again on Tuesday, but there is some uncertainty due to potential thunderstorms, the weather service said.

With the incoming heat, the Village of Lemont is reminding residents about available cooling centers in Lemont. Cooling centers operate at:

  • Lemont CORE, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday; and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
  • Lemont Library, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday
  • Lemont Township, 16300 Alba St., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Lemont Village Hall, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

After hours, you can call the Lemont Police Department's non-emergency phone number at 630-257-2226 for assistance. In the event of an emergency situation, please call 911.

Waste Management will also do earlier pick-up on Tuesday. Lemont customers should have items for collection out and ready by 5 a.m. on these days for your regularly scheduled waste and recycling pickup.
