Lemontster Days 2025: Schedule Of Events

Celebrate all things autumn and Halloween in Lemont with a variety of events hosted by several different community organizations.

LEMONT, IL — If you love all things autumnal and Halloween, you'll be happy to see the line-up for Lemontster Days 2025. Celebrate Halloween with a variety of events hosted by several different community organizations. Here's a look at this year's line-up (please note: more events could be added or changed).

Scarecrow Trail competition

Sept. 27 to Oct. 19. Vote for your favorite scarecrow at the Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary. This year's theme is Disney Villains. The application deadline to create your group's scarecrow is Sept. 21. Vote through Oct. 19. Winners will be contacted prior to Oct. 25. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Youth Project, Best Family Project, Best Portrayal of the Theme, Most Creative, and Best Photo Opportunity.

Jack O’Lantern World
Oct. 2 – Nov. 1. Step into a glowing wonderland this fall as Jack O’Lantern World, one of the world’s largest jack-o’-lantern festivals, returns to The Forge: Lemont Quarries. Stroll through an immersive trail featuring more than a thousand jack-o'-lanterns and themed worlds brought to life by 50+ skilled carvers. New this year: families can add even more fun with the Kids Pass, including access to a giant inflatable wonderland on the Mount Lawn, the Creepy Crawly Climb Zone and a round of Ghostly Graveyard Mini Golf on the 18-hole course. Seasonal food and beverage options will also be available from Creamery, including festive fall treats. Tickets go on sale Aug. 22 and must be purchased in advance.

Oct. 4 – Oct. 26. Bring your little ghosts and goblins to The Forge: Lemont Quarries for an unforgettable family Halloween experience. Every Saturday and Sunday, step into Sawyer’s Harrowing Halloween Adventure, an interactive storytelling event, where kids help bring our new book to life alongside our lovable mascots, Sawyer and Cindy Squirrel. Designed for families with children ages 3–12, this not-so-spooky celebration is perfect for creating magical Halloween memories.

Fire District Open House
Oct. 4 at Fire Station One, 15900 New Ave., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lemont Fire District’s Annual Open House. Bring the whole family for a fun and educational day at the fire station. Enjoy live demonstrations, safety activities, meet your local firefighters, and more.

“Spirits of the Limestone” Presentation and Walking Tour

Oct. 4 at the Lemont Historical Society. Time and details TBA soon.

Halloween Costume Swap

Oct. 9 at Lemont Park District CORE Complex (Kensington Room), 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Get ready for a spooktacular time at the second Community Swap Event. The Costume Swap is for families, friends, and individuals of all ages to exchange new and gently used costumes to ensure that everyone has access to a fantastic outfit for Halloween without breaking the bank. Costume drop-off is from Oct. 3 to Oct. 8. Designated bins will be located in the lobby of the CORE building.

Lemont Juniorettes “Monster and Me Mile Run”

Oct. 11. Lemont Township Community Center Heritage Trail, 2 p.m. Register by Oct. 1. To register: http://bit.ly/40FPfrM. Price per person: $10. All participants will receive a completion medal and smores!

Harvest Fest

Oct. 11 at Lemont Park District Centennial Campus, 3 to 7 p.m. Food vendors, beer tent, hayrides and petting zoo, trunk or treat, kid’s zone and activities, pie eating contest, band and more.

Drive-In Movie | “Hotel Transyvania”

Oct. 17 at the Lemont Park District CORE Parking Lot. $15/Car. Gates open at 6 p.m. Registration is required. To register, visit www.LemontParkDistrict.org.

Lemontster Trick-or-Treating

Oct. 25 at Downtown Lemont businesses, 12 to 2 p.m. Free event. Dress up in your Halloween costumes and join in the fun as participating downtown Lemont businesses hand out treats.

The Art of Scary

Oct. 28 at the Lemont Public Library, 6 to 6:45 p.m. Enjoy a fun family show with Magical Balloon-dude Dale! Registration Required.

"Lemontster Manor" Home Decorating Contest

Oct. 1 to 31, sponsored by Lemont Park District. The Lemont Park District invites you to decorate your Lemont residence for Halloween. Great prizes will be awarded. Sign up with the park district and have your decorations up by Oct. 22. The top 3 Winners will be announced Oct. 27 on Lemont Park District social media, website, and Lemont Patch.

“Treat or Treat” for the Lemont Food Pantries

Hosted by the Hope and Friendship Foundation. Help fill the pantry shelves by dropping off any of the following much-needed items for the pantries to the bin inside the Lemont Police Department entry or the pantry drop off by the Jewel Customer Service counter:

  • Canned Meats, Meals & Pastas
  • Boxed Meal Helpers
  • Microwave Food / Meals
  • Name Brand Cereals
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Coffee
  • Paper Products
  • Personal Care Items
  • Cleaning Products

Halloween falls on Friday, Oct. 31. Trick or treating hours are from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
