Make-Up Placement Exam for Incoming LHS Freshmen Set for Saturday

The make-up exam is mandatory for all incoming freshmen who did not attend the Dec. 7 testing date.

The make-up date for the Lemont High School Class of 2018 placement exam is 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.

The make-up exam is mandatory for all incoming freshmen who did not attend the Dec. 7 testing date.

Students are asked to arrive on campus at 8:30 a.m., but no later than
8:45 a.m., and be dropped off at the school’s Performing Arts Center entrance off of Julia Street. They will be directed to their assigned testing rooms from there.

Testing will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Students will be asked to complete a writing sample, and also will take three subtests (English, Reading, Mathematics) of the EXPLORE exam. On the Mathematics subtest, students may use a scientific calculator or a non-QWERTY graphing calculator, but they will not be permitted to utilize CAS calculators or calculators on mobile devices (phones, iPads, etc.).

Students will be provided with a bottle of water and a snack bar during a break in testing, and also will be provided with a No. 2 pencil to use that morning. Testing is expected to be completed between 11:45 a.m. and noon. Parents who arrive early can wait for their children in the Performing Arts Center lot or the adjacent parking garage.
