Tuffy is an affectionate, 10-month-old neutered pitbull terrier at the Hinsdale Humane Society. Two women who rescue pets from their neighborhood dropped him off, so not much is known about him, except his behavior at the shelter.
"He's never shown any aggression here," said Samantha Cheatham, the assistant manager for the Hinsdale Humane Society. "He's really smart and easy to train if someone puts in the time and effort. He learns really quickly and has taken well to the things we've done with him."
Tuffy is about 50 pounds. According to the Humane Society, he is fully grown and should not get much bigger. Cheatham said Tuffy has a lot of energy and would do well in a home where he can get out and exercise. She says Tuffy is a smart dog who needs mental stimulation. The shelter recommends that he be placed in a home where he can get consistent training from everyone in the household.
