The is celebrating "COREtoberfest" this month with a special deal for new members. During the month of October, those who join the , 16050 W. 127th St., will pay no enrollment fee and will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Lemont Park District gift card. 3. Lemont Rotary's Oktoberfest
The Rotary Club of Lemont-Homer Glen is hosting an "Oktoberfest" celebration from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at 1 Pete Dye Drive. The event is $15 and will include beer, appetizers, raffles, prizes and more. All proceeds will benefit the Rotary Youth Leadership Grants. Tickets are available at the Lemont Public Library, SBT Bank in Lemont, Kallemyn Collision and at the door.
4. Veterans Drive
The , 50 E. Wend St., is partnering with the Women's Auxiliary of the and the Rotary Club of Lemont-Homer Glen to collect and distribute items requested by veterans at Hines Hospital and Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.

These organizations are in need of cleaning supplies, paper products, linens, gift cards and office supplies. Details are included in these wish lists: Hines VA Hospital Wish List and Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans Wish List.
Donations may be brought to the Circulation Desk during regular library hours from Oct. 1 through Nov. 11. For each donation, you will receive on coupon for a free DVD rental or $1 off fines (up to a maximum $10 per account).
