Lemont's Hometown Heroes Banner Program Returns For 2026
The program celebrates Lemont residents that have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
LEMONT, IL — After a successful first year, Lemont's Hometown Heroes banner program will return again for 2026. According to the Village, celebrates Lemont residents that have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces by displaying personalized banners along State Street.
The initiative was brought to Lemont by residents Linda Anifer and Tricia Hayes, who will once again lead this year's effort, the Village said.
"Inspired by their own family members who have served and are currently serving in the military, they understand the deep significance of honoring our community's heroes and we thank them for continuing to champion this important project," the Village said.

Applications for this year are now open, and you can apply on the Village website. Spots do fill quickly.
The banners will be displayed before Memorial Day and remain up through Veterans Day. Only 48 banner spots are available at a cost of $75 per banner, according to the Village.
