"It should be a pretty simple project," Schafer said. "It's not a very complex contract. [There] shouldn't be any shut-down, and should move forward pretty quickly by the end of the year."

According to Board documents, the project includes removal, cleaning and replacement of the neoprene expansion joints; sealing the bridge deck surface; reattaching an existing traffic barrier; cleaning approach drains; and removal of debris from waterway openings.
