Report: Lemont Man Gets Jail Time for Role in Naperville Heroin Bust

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for his role in a Naperville heroin bust late last year, according to a SouthtownStar report.

Emmanuel J. Ventouris, of the 1100 block of Norwalk Road in Lemont, was arrested by Naperville police Dec. 14, along with Russell F. Tucek, 26, and John C. Kacena, 19—both of Naperville.

Ventouris was originally charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, . However, he was instead convicted of a charge of attempting to obstruct justice by providing false information to police, the SouthtownStar reported Sunday.

According to the report, Ventouris was sentenced Thursday to 30 days in jail, beginning March 5. He was also given a month of conditional discharge and assessed fines and court fees totaling $295.

According to a from the Naperville Police Department, Ventouris, Tucek and Kacena were stopped by the department's special operations unit at 5:58 p.m. Dec. 14 after a concerned citizen told police they believed the suspects were trafficking heroin.

Police allegedly found heroin and an assortment of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, and took all three men into custody, according to the release.

Tucek remains in jail and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday, the SouthtownStar reports. Kacena is free on bond, and is set to appear in court next month
