• Lemont's Hometown Heroes Banner Program Returns For 2026 (patch.com) — Lemont residents have another chance in 2026 to honor local service members through the returning Hometown Heroes banner program along State Street. With only 48 spots available at $75 each, organizers Linda Anifer and Tricia Hayes encourage early applications on the Village website, as banners will be displayed from before Memorial Day through Veterans Day.
   

• UCLA adds Eastern Michigan OT transfer Mack Indestad (on3.com subscription) — A former Eastern Michigan offensive tackle who grew up in Lemont is heading to UCLA, adding depth to the Bruins’ offensive line for 2026. The 6-foot-8 lineman, who has three years of eligibility left, is one of several transfer additions aimed at better protecting UCLA’s young star quarterback.
