Unincorporated Cook Co Residents: Sticker Deadline is July 1
Residents have until July 1 to buy wheel tax stickers or pay double.

Residents of unincorporated Cook County, including , who own a car or a cycle, listen up. You have until July 1 to put a new vehicle sticker on your vehicle.
If you have a business in unincorporated Cook County and keep a vehicle there, you have to get one as well.
If you don't have one by July 1, expect a bit of sticker shock.

Stickers are available for purchase from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Lemont Township office, 1115 Warner Ave.
They are also available online through the County's Department of Revenue.

The cost is:
- XSV for small passenger vehicles, $80. Cars in this category are 4,500 pounds and under.
- XLV for larger passenger vehicle, $100.00. Cars in this class are 4,500 or larger. (See PDF for XLV models).
- MB for motorcycle, $50
- NF, or no vehicle sticker fee for seniors over 65, the physically disabled, disabled veterans and municipal cars.
Seniors who purchased a sticker in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011 and own the same vehicle are not required to purchase a new one.
Here's the rub: if you don't get one mounted on your car, you'll have to pay a fine equal to the price of the sticker, or $25, whichever is greater.
