Barbershop Show in Lisle on Saturday, May 20

Enjoy old time barbershop music like your father and grandfather sang right here in Lisle, Illinois!

The Chorus of DuPage, a men’s barbershop chorus presents its Spring Show Saturday, May 20, 2017, 5:30 pm, at Goodwin Hall on the campus of Benedictine University, 5700 College Road, Lisle, IL.

The Spring Show includes performances by the 40 member Chorus of DuPage and their talented, entertaining quartets. During the evening the chorus will celebrate Armed Forces Day by recognizing veterans and today’s active military with a musical tribute, including a color guard unit for the National Anthem and a rifle exhibition team performance.

The show features Boardwalk, a guest quartet from Atlanta, Georgia. The men recreate songs that combine great barbershop harmony with folk music and some instrumentation. The group’s inspiration is the music and fashion of the 1920’s as they entertain with songs and memories of “The Good Old Days.” The quartet was invited to compete in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s international competition for barbershop quartets the past two years.
