Contempo Dance Academy of Lisle to Present Holiday Production 'Nutcracker Sweets'

Contempo Dance Academy of Lisle will present its annual holiday production of Nutcracker Sweets.

The show will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, and 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Trinity's Grounds for Hope Auditorium, 2701 Maple Ave., Lisle.

Nutcracker Sweets is an all-student performance based on the characters in the traditional Nutcracker ballet but adds a modern twist. Sweets blends classical ballet with jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical pieces to tell an original holiday story that is ideal for all ages. The production runs about one hour in length and features original choreography by faculty members as well as Contempo director, Kimberly Kovacevich, who has taught at the Academy of Dance--Official School of the Joffrey Ballet in downtown Chicago.

Tickets for Nutcracker Sweets are $8 for adults and $5 for children when purchased in advance at the studio, or $10 for all seats at the door.
