Displaced Lisle Residents Find Help at Trinity Lutheran
The church is harboring about two dozen Lisle residents who have not yet been able to return to their homes; Benedictine University is also serving as a shelter.

A week and a half after flood waters rose from the DuPage River and swamped much of the Village of Lisle, many residents remain displaced, particularly from the Four Lakes complex, with many who do not choose to stay at the Benedictine University shelter finding a temporary home at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Daily Herald reports.
One former Four Lakes resident, Darlene Jenkins, said told the paper that she preferred the church to Benedictine because “this is more like home.”
According to the paper, about 20-25 people are currently running their lives out of Trinity Lutheran, showering at Edward Health & Fitness in Woodridge and trying to go about parts of their normal lives as they wait out the month that it may take for them to return to the homes that had heating, electrical and other systems shot by the flood; others are looking to move elsewhere in the Village, or to another town entirely.

"I went from suit and tie every day to homeless,” Victor Atalla, who just started a marketing internship in Naperville, told the paper. “This is really affecting our livelihoods.”
"Our main focus is to get these cars running,” added his wife, Ashley, of their two vehicles who were drowned by the flood and remain inoperative, severely hampering their mobility. “We only have liability insurance, so that won't help out at all. It won't even cover a rental."
