It's OK; Water is Supposed to Come Out of the Hydrants

The village of Lisle conducts its annual fire hydrant flushing this week.

Lisle's Public Works Department will be conducting the annual hydrant flushing program today, Monday, through Friday, Aug. 31.

According to a the village's website, the village flushes all of its hydrants/water mains between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in order to remove any accumulation of minerals and other deposits that exist in the water mains and to improve water quality.

Fire hydrants are also inspected to ensure they are working properly and those that are not will be repaired.
