Lisle CodeRED Now Offering Weather Warning System

The Village of Lisle has upgraded its CodeRED system to include Weather Warning notifications that will be sent to registered residents in the event of imminent dangerous weather events, the Suburban Life reports.

According to the paper, residents can elect what weather events to receive alerts for (tornadoes, floods, winter storms, etc.), and will then receive a call to their phones warning them of any incoming weather. The system is free to anyone who works or lives in Lisle.

“If you are outside and have a cellphone but no TV or radio, your phone will ring and tell you what’s coming,” Lisle Police Department Watch Commander Randy Johnson told the paper. “It’s a very good system.”

“With the amount of thunderstorms and weather activity coming around the last few years we looked into it and it seems to work well so it’s just making our system that much better.”

Residents and in-Village employees can register at the Village of Lisle website or at the Lisle Police Department.
