Lisle Hopes New Developer Will Revitalize Family Square Site
In 2022, then-Mayor Christopher Pecak had vetoed a motion for a $10.5 million TIF plan for the site.

LISLE, IL — A developer recently acquired the long-vacant Family Square plaza in Lisle, bringing hope that the site can be revitalized.
Located at the intersection of Main Street and Ogden Avenue, the roughly three-acre site was formerly home to a Citgo gas station, a nail salon, a gyro restaurant, a liquor store and a laundromat. Family Square was acquired by Flaherty & Collins Properties, according to a news release from the Village of Lisle.
Flaherty & Collins aims to rebuild the property into a mixed-use development.

In 2022, then-Mayor Christopher Pecak vetoed a motion to designate a $10.5 million tax-increment financing (TIF) district for Family Square Plaza. Council members had voted 4 to 2 in favor of the TIF district ahead of Pecak's veto.
Of the new acquisition, Mayor Mary Jo Mullen said in a statement, " After years of stagnation, we are grateful the site is now controlled by a developer capable of bringing real change to this important corner in our community,”
