Lisle Rotary Charities Announces Fourth Annual Red, White and Blue Ball

Red, White and Blue Ball Co-Chairman Jim Renn is pleased to announce that Erica J. Borggren, director Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, will be the guest speaker at the Fourth Annual Red, White and Blue Ball Oct. 26, at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville.

Director Borggren was appointed to her position by Gov. Pat Quinn on Aug. 5, 2011.

She previously served as a senior staff member for Army General David H. Petraeus during his time as Commanding General in Iraq, at US Central Command, and in Afghanistan. Prior to her time in the Middle East, Borggren served as an Army Medical Service Corps officer in Yongsan, South Korea.

Following her graduation as valedictorian from the United States Military Academy at West Point, she was designated as a Rhodes Scholar and earned postgraduate degrees in comparative social policy and theology from Oxford University.

The Red, White and Blue Ball is a fundraiser for Operation Support Our Troops America and the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.
