Mayor Broda: Lisle Property Loss from Flood in the Millions
The mayor elaborated on the Village's statement calling last week's storm "one of the worst flood disasters" in the history of Lisle.

Lisle Mayor Joseph Broda is estimating that the total flood damage in the Village will be "in the millions," saying a neighbor of his took a $20,000 hit just in her basement, the Suburban Life reports.
According to the paper, Lisle took on 7.34 inches of rainwater on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to mass flooding, dramatic rescues and the evacuation of several locations in the Village (including the Four Lakes complex, where some people had to leave their pets for two days,) with much of the damage still being cleaned up this week.
"We've got homes that may not be able to be occupied again," Broda told the paper. "I can only speak for the last 35 years in Lisle, but the level of flooding has made this the worst storm I have seen... The storms and flooding in '96 were bad, but not to this magnitude.
