LISLE, IL — The Morton Arboretum recently paid $5.1 million to acquire an estate on Leask Lane that spans 18 acres and includes a three-bedroom house, Chicago Tribune reports.
The gated property is surrounded by the 1,700-acre arboretum on nearly all of its sides. It was initially listed in February for $6 million by heirs of late Chicago-area real estate developer Leland Stahelin.
According to Chicago Tribune, arboretum officials have yet to decide whether to keep the Leask Lane house intact or tear it down. The property is also home to a pond and swimming pool.
