Week Ahead: I-88 Corporate's Relay for Life

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Lisle for the week of Aug. 5-9:

·      Monday, Aug. 5: Heads up: there will be no Village Board meeting on Monday night. The next meeting is on August 19 at 7:00 p.m.

·      Tuesday, Aug. 6: It’s the last night for the Lisle Park District’s summer Movies in the Park, presenting, for free, the mega blockbuster superhero film The Avengers! The film is PG-13 and plays outdoors at 1825 Short Street, Lisle starting at sundown (around 8:15 p.m.) Bring a picnic!

·      Wednesday, Aug. 7: The brand new DuPage Valley Vengeance Fastpitch Softball travel team is holding their tryouts for the fall season all day Wednesday at 479 West Forest Avenue, West Chicago. Find a complete schedule here.

·      Thursday, Aug. 8: Battle of the big bands in Naperville! “Join The Naperville Big Band led by Tracy Oliver for a good old-fashioned ‘battle of the bands’ with the Jazz Community Big Band led by Marianne May. Bring a picnic, sit on the benches or bring your own lawn chairs!” It’s free and starts at 7:30 p.m. at 104 E. Benton Ave., Naperville.

·      Friday, Aug. 9: I-88 Corporate are holding an evening Relay for Life from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday evening at 2200 Cabot Drive, Lisle. “The Relay brings together friends, family, businesses, hospitals, schools, churches and community organizations… all with the goal of finding a cure for cancer!” Attend, form a team, sponsor or help fundraise.
