Construction Begins On Manhattan McDonald's, Hiring Kicks Off

The foundation was poured Thursday for the Manhattan McDonald's. The company anticipates it could open as early as late-July.

MANHATTAN, IL — Work has started on the construction of a McDonald's in Manhattan, with the foundation being poured Thursday.

The work is expected to move quickly, and the company is eyeing a late-July, early-August opening for the business at 440 West North St., said Mayor Mike Adrieansen.

While construction continues, the company is encouraging anyone interested in employment at the location to text IL212 to 38000, or to call 815-463-9471. Pay starts at $15-17 per hour.

Manhattan Mayor Mike Adrieansen in January called the addition of McDonald's a "positive step forward for the Village of Manhattan."

"We continue to work to bring new business opportunities to town and expand the choices for our residents," Adrieansen said in a release. "Working with the trustees and staff we were able to get this done."
