1 Killed In Crash With Semi, Car On Wilmington-Peotone Road: Fire Chief
The crash closed a portion of the road for several hours.
PEOTONE TOWNSHIP, IL — One person was killed in a crash with a semi and car on Wilmington-Peotone Road Tuesday morning, according to officials.
Manhattan Fire Protection first responders were called to the scene of a head-on, two-vehicle crash at 10:45 a.m. The car sustained heavy front-end damage, with a woman driver pinned inside. She was later pronounced dead at the scene, Manhattan Fire Protection District Chief Steve Malone said
The woman’s identity has not yet been released.

Two other patients evaluated at the scene refused medical attentions.
Additional details on the crash were not immediately clear Tuesday afternoon. Will County Sheriff’s police are investigating.

Wilmington-Peotone Road is closed in both directions between US Route 45 and Cedar Road, the Will County Sheriff's Office said. It reopened at 5 p.m.
