Gas Price Update: Lowest Gas Prices Around Manhattan For Memorial Day

MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan residents are getting no relief at the pump heading into Memorial Day with gas prices still near record highs in Illinois.
The average price of gas in Illinois was at about $4.98 per gallon Sunday, according to AAA. That's about the same a week ago, but still up 58 cents from a month ago.
In Will County, the average price for a gallon of gas was around 7 cents over the state average on Sunday at about $5.05 per gallon.

But, if you know where to look, you can find cheaper gas prices throughout Will County.
The cheapest gas in Will County Sunday night was at Moshen, 24001 Lorenzo Road in Wilmington, selling for $4.61. Here are some other places you can save near Manhattan:

Nationally, the average gas price Sunday was about $4.61 per gallon. It was $3.04 at this same point last year, according to AAA.
Illinois' gas prices ranked No. 5 in the lower 48 of the county. Rounding out The Top 5 states in gas price averages Wednesday were California at $6.14, Nevada at $5.28, Washington at $5.23 and Oregon at $5.20, according to AAA. Kansas had the lowest national gas price average at around $4.13.
