Irish Family Exhibitors Sought for Museum Event

Historical Museum seeks Manhattan Irish family history and artifacts.

The Manhattan Township Historical Society will be featuring an exhibit focused on early local Irish families, and how they helped to develop the town. The event will be held at the Museum at 255 S. State St. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10 am to 2 pm. Local members of the community will have displays of treasured heirlooms, family history and their ties to Ireland. Demographic records will present how early Irish families came to the area, took root, and still thrive in the community today generations later.

Irish history and culture will also be presented to show how the character of these early hard working pioneers was formed’ and how these qualities still resonate in the community toda

Organizers are seeking members of local Irish families who would be interested in displaying their family histories, artifacts, heirlooms and even tall tales in this celebration of Irish culture and tradition.
