On Nov. 6, police were called to West Hickory Street and South Wall Street, for a report of a disturbance stemming from a traffic altercation. Police on scene learned that a man, identified as George D. Gaus, had been involved in a traffic collision at the 900 block of West Station Street. After the initial crash, Gaus is alleged to have followed another vehicle through traffic, reportedly intentionally striking it multiple times with his truck, causing it to hit a third vehicle, police said.
A confrontation followed, and police said Gaus engaged in a physical altercation with another person at the scene. Responding officers broke it up and detained those involved, according to a release.
