Manhattan Approves Engineering Study For Eastern Avenue

MANHATTAN, IL — Eastern Avenue has taken its first steps toward being constructed from North Street to Baker Road after the Manhattan village board approved a resolution for an engineering agreement with Robinson Engineering. At its Nov. 19 meeting, the board approved phase 1 engineering for the project.

According to board documents, the village will apply for grant funding for the project through the Will County Governmental League's grant program.

Phase 1 will include an engineering study for the reconstruction of Eastern Avenue from North Street (Manhattan-Monee Road) to Baker Road as a 2-lane, rural cross section, board documents state.
