Manhattan Students Return To Class Wednesday

Manhattan School District 114 students return to the classrooms under a state-wide mask mandate.

MANHATTAN, IL — The 2021-22 school year will kick off Wednesday for Manhattan School District 114 schools. Classes will resume with a state-wide mask mandate in place for all students, faculty and staff, per an executive order by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

The mandate has been the subject of contentious debate across the state, but District Superintendent Rusty Ragon notified parents in an Aug. 13 letter that the District would be in compliance with the governor's order.
