MANHATTAN, IL — The Village of Manhattan and Manhattan Chamber of Commerce have debuted a new holiday feature, akin to its fall "Scarecrows on Parade."

The new "Snowman Stroll" invites residents to snag a wooden snowman canvas and decorate it to their liking, for display during the month of December. Some snowmen—hand-sawn by woodworking students at Lincoln-Way West—are still available, but must find their new families by Nov. 22.

Businesses, organizations, groups, individuals, and families are invited to buy a snowman for $25, deck it out for the holidays, and have it back to the Village by Dec. 2, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The 4-foot by 3-foot snowmen are available at Nick Fellers State Farm, 530 W. North St., Suite. 105.

All decorations must be securely attached, and must be able to withstand the elements—they'll be out for all to see at the Wabash parking lot. The display will last from Dec. 4 through Jan. 2.

A panel will judge the Frostys, and prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place designs.
