Easter 2022: What's Hop-ening In Mokena?

Easter is April 17, but that's not stopping some Mokena organizations from hosting Easter-themed events earlier than that.

MOKENA, IL — Spring has sprung, and Easter is right around the corner. That means it's time for egg decorating, egg hunts, visits from the Eater bunny and more in Mokena. While Easter isn't until April 17, there are plenty of Easter-themed events happening in town before then. Patch is keeping a list of where to find kid and family-friendly events in town. Check out some of the events in the list below.


  • Mokena Community Park District Adult Egg Hunt, Yunker Farm Park at 10824 LaPorte Road - April 8 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $30 for Mokena residents, $35 for non-residents. Why let the kids have all the fun? This event will feature an Easter egg hunt, games and a light buffet dinner. Adults 21 and over only. Registration is open until April 1.   • Mokena Lions Club Egg Hunt, Main Park at 10925 LaPorte Road - April 9 starting at noon. The egg hunt will be divided into three age groups. The Mokena Lions Club is stuffing more than 8,000 eggs, but those will undoubtedly go fast! Plus, a visit from a fuzzy friend or two is expected.   • Pet Pictures with the Easter Bunny, Resale for Rescues, 11134 Front St. - April 10 from 11 a.m. to noon. A $5 donation is requested. The donation will come with a raffle ticket for an Easter basket filled with goodies. Winner need not be present to win.
  • Mokena Community Park District Flashlight Egg Hunt, Yunker Farm Park at 10824 LaPorte Road - April 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Registration is required. Open for ages 8-13. Cost is $13 for residents, $15 for non-residents. Use your flashlight to search for hidden eggs with prizes inside. If you find a golden egg, you'll get a basket of goodies.
