Residents have until Aug. 14 to apply for the Naperville Police Department's 10-week Citizen Police Academy.

- NAPERVILLE, IL — Residents who want to learn about how Naperville police officers do their jobs can apply to take part in the Citizen Police Academy (CPA). The free 10-week program includes classroom instruction and demonstrations of forensics, patrolling and other aspects of police work.
“CPA is an excellent opportunity for a behind-the-curtains peak at how the police department in Naperville does business,” Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement.
He added, “The class allows residents to see what the day-to-day looks like for our personnel, and it introduces them to the many different ways we are working to protect and serve our community. If you’ve ever wondered about our policies, tactics, equipment, training or any other topic concerning policing in Naperville, you’ll learn all that and more at CPA.”
