Balloon Rides Offered For Those With Special Needs

Lisle's Eyes to the Skies Festival takes place this weekend and has a special opportunity for children or adults with special needs.

While Naperville’s Ribfest is a huge event, next door in Lisle the Eyes to the Skies Festival will also be drawing crowds of festival goers.

Parents with special needs children or those with physical and developmental disabilities will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot air balloon event, according to a news release. Free tethered rides will be available in the nation’s only FAA-approved wheelchair accessible hot-air balloon, Serena’s Song.

Each ride will take about 15 minutes and a family member or attendant may share in the experience. Weather permitting, rides will be available from 6-7:30 a.m. and again from 6 p.m. until dusk Friday through Sunday.
