The public is invited to cheer on Naperville’s finest local talent as 9 high school bands compete in the annual Battle of the Bands from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. this Friday, May 20 at Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave.

This popular, free event is sponsored by the Youth Ambassadors Program. The first place winner will perform on the Main Stage (South) at Ribfest  on July 1, 2011 and will advance to the Illinois Park District Association’s Regional Battle of the Bands with a chance to perform at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield. The second and third place finishers will play at the Naperville Park District’s Rollin’ on the River series on the Riverwalk this summer.

In 2010 the Naperville Battle of the Bands winner Within Four Days went on to win the regional competition and placed second in the state finals.
