Although it is no longer in downtown Naperville, The Comedy Shrine is opening in its new location near the Fox Valley Mall. This weekend it offers “The Best of the Midwest Comedy Showcase,” which will feature comedians from in and around the Chicago area.

Kids fly free

The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 461 is participating in the Young Eagles program, which offers children 8 to 17 free plane rides. The rides are given at Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook, weather permitting.

Free music on the river

The Rollin’ on the River summer series continues Friday with a solo performance. Singer Elizabeth Carol Krunnfusz will be singing tunes along the river from 7 to 9 p.m.
