Murder Charges Filed In Fatal Naperville Stabbing

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in the stabbing death of his ex-wife. Zokir Kudratov, 55, of the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive, was arrested Sunday in connection with Saturday's fatal stabbing.

Police were called to the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive Saturday morning and arrived to find that a woman, later identified as Kudratov's ex-wife, had been stabbed. According to police, Kudratov used a knife to stab the woman "numerous times," a news release said.

Her name was not released.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead just before 2 p.m.

“First and foremost, the entire Naperville Police Department sends our sincere condolences to the victim's family," Naperville Police Chief Arres said in a statement.

Arres added, “To say these incidents are some of the most challenging and heartbreaking in policing is an understatement. I commend our officers and investigators for their professionalism and diligence throughout this tragic situation. Thank you as well to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance and guidance during this incident."

Kudratov is being held at Will County Jail and is set to appear in court July 10.
