Naperville Police Arrest Lockport Woman For Felony Theft Of Puppy
Alicia Johnson-Medrano left a Naperville pet store with a female Yorkshire Terrier puppy valued at $9,900 inside her jacket.
On Nov. 21, 2020, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the Naperville Police Department responded to Petland located at 720 S Route 59 in reference to a puppy that was just stolen. Upon arrival, officers learned that Alicia Johnson-Medrano, 22, had left the store with a female Yorkshire Terrier puppy valued at $9,900, inside her jacket. Responding officers located and subsequently arrested Johnson-Medrano outside of the store. The puppy was returned to store employees and was not harmed during this incident.
Johnson-Medrano, of the 16700 block of Apache Drive in Lockport, was charged with one count each of Theft and Retail Theft, both Class 3 felonies, and transported to the DuPage County Jail.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
