2nd Robbery Suspect Arrested After Stolen Lottery Tickets Cashed In: New Lenox PD
A second suspect in the Jan. 10 robbery and burglary at the Food N' Fuel in New Lenox was arrested Thursday, police said.

NEW LENOX, IL — A second man has been arrested in connection with the robbery and burglary of a New Lenox gas station in January, New Lenox police said Thursday.
On Thursday, Feb. 6, the US Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Terrell L. Ferrell, 26, of the 11900 block of S. Stewart St., Chicago, for robbery and burglary stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 10.
On Jan. 10 police were called to the Food N’ Fuel at 2560 N. Cedar Road in reference to a theft in progress. The clerk said two males entered the store wearing masks.

One of the men jumped over the counter, and made threats to physically harm the clerk, police said. The two subjects removed liquor, cigarettes, and several containers of Illinois Lottery scratch-off tickets from the store, while a third subject held the door. The approximate value of the stolen merchandise was $13,045.19.
All three suspects fled in a red pick-up truck. Police said New Lenox detectives learned the same trio had conducted similar thefts in Peotone, Chicago and Matteson using both a red pick-up truck and a Lincoln SUV. Detectives determined the vehicles used by the suspects were rented through an online service and identified the renter, according to police.

With the assistance of Chicago Police, New Lenox detectives learned the identity of Ferrell. Video of Ferrell was also collected from multiple locations where stolen lottery tickets were cashed in.
On Jan. 30, New Lenox detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Ferrell and on February 6, the Task Force located and arrested Farrell at the Days Inn Hotel in Calumet Park. He was then transported to the New Lenox Police Department, where he was charged with robbery, burglary, and theft. He was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
Late last month, New Lenox police arrested Leonard Hunter, 27, of the 1100 block of N. 112th Place in Chicago, on charges of robbery and burglary for the New Lenox incident. He was also charged with burglary in the Peotone crime.
This investigation is still ongoing.
