James Barry Sr., 78, of New Lenox, has run on all seven continents.

78-year-old James Barry Sr. of New Lenox has joined his love of running and world travel.  A member of the Seven Continents Club, he has raced in Kenya, China, New Zealand and more.

When he's not touring and racing himself, the retired teacher and lifelong runner encourages other seniors to keep fit, according to a story in the Southtown Star. He's not out to win every race, but Barry enjoys the challenge and the cultural experience.

"They were all great places to go. You meet the most interesting people," he told the Southtown Star. His best race was run at 3:00:02 in Oceana, New Zealand. For a more in-depth look into Barry's marathon experiences, go to the Southtown Star.
