Active Shooter Training Offered By New Lenox

The training is designed to prepare attendees for an active shooter situation "regardless of where it might occur."

MANHATTAN, IL — The Village of New Lenox is offering a free active shooter training event designed by the National Safety Council. The course, called "Surviving an Active Shooter Event," can help people know what to do in the horrifying case of an active shooter.

The two-hour course focuses on the right courses of action to take in such a situation, "regardless of where it might occur," a release from New Lenox says.

The course will be on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Christ Mission Church/Living Waters Children’s Center, 22811 S. Cedar Rd. in Manhattan. It's about a half-mile south of Laraway Road.
