Thieves Hit Several Unlocked Cars Hours Apart, Same Day: New Lenox PD
The incidents started as early as 5:45 a.m., with several cars targeted before 8 p.m.

NEW LENOX, IL — Several unlocked cars just blocks apart were entered and rummaged through within hours of each other on the same day, with suspects stealing wallets from inside at least three, according to New Lenox police reports.
On Sept. 8, just before 6 a.m., someone entered three unlocked cars parked in the 400 block of Essex Lane, stealing a wallet from inside of one. A fourth, locked car was left untouched, the victim told police.
An hour later and a block away also on Essex Lane, a wallet and a coin purse were taken from inside another, unlocked vehicle, according to reports.

Two hours later and one street over on Rossford Lane, someone sifted through another, unlocked car parked in the victim's driveway. Nothing appeared to have been stolen, the victim told police.
Later that same day just before 8 p.m., two unlocked cars in the 400 block of Kingston were searched, with a wallet stolen from inside one, according to reports.
