Child Porn Charges For New Lenox Man, 22: New Lenox PD

The man was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 22, after a months-long investigation.

NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox man has been arrested on allegations of child porn possession and dissemination, New Lenox police said Thursday.

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, New Lenox police arrested Jacob Briggs, 22, of the 1200 block of Timber Place, on charges stemming from an investigation that began in July 2025.

The New Lenox Police Department Investigations Unit received a tip regarding a New Lenox resident that was downloading and sharing child pornography through an online mobile application. During the investigation, police said Briggs was identified as the subscriber and user of the mobile application, and a search warrant was obtained for his residence.

On Oct. 22, the NLPD executed the search warrant with the assistance of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. NLPD and AG Investigators took possession of Briggs’ electronic devices, which contained evidence of the offense of possession of child pornography.

Briggs was taken into custody and subsequently charged with one count of dissemination of child pornography and four counts of possession of child pornography, both felonies.

Briggs was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to appear for a pre-trial detention hearing.
