CN To Begin Crossing Repairs On Schoolhouse Road In New Lenox

The work will begin Saturday morning and will last until June 9 as repairs are completed on the crossings between Route 30 and Laraway Road.

NEW LENOX, IL — Drivers whose routes include passing by the railroad crossing on Schoolhouse Road in New Lenox will need to make travel adjustments for a week's time beginning this weekend.

The village announced this week that the CN Railroad Road crossing on Schoolhouse Road between Route 30 and Laraway Road will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday and will remain closed until 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Local officials said the crossing will be barricaded at 5 a.m. Saturday morning before the closing goes into effect an hour later.

The crossing will be closed so that repairs can be made to the site, the village said. Drivers will need to follow signs for a detour to avoid the area.
