Cow On The Loose Turns Heads, Captures Hearts In New Lenox
The cow was spotted grazing on someone's lawn on Illinois Highway and Lake Street Friday afternoon.

NEW LENOX, IL — A cow on the loose in New Lenox Friday was the talk of the town.
The female cow was spotted munching on someone's front lawn on Illinois Highway between Lake Road and Barnside Road early Friday afternoon. A resident turned to social media to see just who she belonged to, and where she needed to be.
"I'm not sure if someone's cow got loose," Kori Koopman wrote in a New Lenox social media page,"but it's on Illinois Highway by Lake Street."

"Getting ahead on lawn maintenance!" one chimed in.
"Trouble is moooving into the neighborhood," one wrote. "Fresh cowpies delivered straight to your doorstep."
It was apparently the cow's second time in the area, someone said.

Someone from a neighboring ranch claimed the cow Thursday night. The cow was claimed by her owner, and made it home safely Friday, too.
"If this would have happened when my son was younger, he would have said, 'Finders keepers' and tried to get me to hide it and keep it in our yard," one commenter said.
Others just enjoyed the moment.
"Why can't this ever happen to me?" one remarked.
"I love New Lenox! You don't see this in the 'city!'"
