Drug Take-Back Kiosk Installed At Will County Coroner's Office

The kiosk is intended for unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Sharps, needles, and inhalers are not allowed.

JOLIET, IL — Will County residents with unwanted medications can now dispose of them at the Will County Coroner's Office.

Coroner Laurie Summers has installed a medication take-back kiosk in the lobby of the Will County Coroner’s Office, 16857 W. Laraway Rd in Joliet.

The kiosk is designed for the public to have a safe place to dispose of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, and to keep them away from children and out of the local water supply, the coroner's office said in a release.

The kiosk is not intended for sharps, needles or inhalers. All medications collected will be disposed of by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Starting Monday, March 18, the kiosk will be accessible between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on holidays.

For more information, contact the Will County Coroner’s Office between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday at 815-727-8455. The kiosk was installed in partnership with Will County Green and Med Return.
