Why are you seeking office?
I am running for another term as Township Trustee for many reasons. During my time served on the Township Board, I have started several new services.

What sets you apart from other candidates?
I have worked to form a partnership with Will County Land Use and our New Lenox “Sharfest” organization to provide a household hazardous waste collection in September. This is a costly project, but with cooperation between the Township, Will County and Sharefest, we are able to provide this service at no additional cost to our residents.
What is the township's goal in participating and promoting environmentally-safe programs?
As chairperson of the Environmental Committee, I am tasked with maintaining our recycling program as well as our Annual Township clean up day. Our clean up day is held on the first Sat. in May every year, and it has grown into a very large and well received program.
Residents are able to have large items picked up at the curb on this day, as well as being able to bring oil, anti freeze, tires, electronics, traditional recyclables to our Township site for collection. This service is provided to all New Lenox residents (in the village and unincorporated areas) at no additional cost. 2013 will be our 24th year providing this service.
Do you think the township should expand its role into other areas? If so, which ones?
I also started and sponsored another program called Transitional vocation. This program allows our Township to serve as a “training site” for special needs students, who with the assistance of a job coach, learn valuable job skills that are able to be used after the student graduates from LWHS Dist. 210. This is
an example of a cooperative effort between Dist. 210, its job coaches, and the Township, to help provde a site for these students to learn new job skills.

Veterans recognition is another area that I have initiated through a dedicated page on our website . We have been able to recognize over 40 veterans from New Lenox , some with feature articles and photos. We have also been able to update our residents on service men and women from New Lenox who are currently serving our country. This is an area we want to improve upon. Thank you to all of our veterans.
Most of these services are featured on our website, www.newlenox.org and I welcome your e-mails or phone calls if I can be of further assistance with any questions or concerns you may have.
